This text should almost be considered as a mandatory read for all high school students, Sociology, History, and Economics majors. Presidents, national leaders, and Congress might possibly learn a few things from these pages! The second 'book' [ie part] as its referred to in the text, is more challenging & can get more difficult to read if one is not militarily-inclined, or strategically-challenged, lets say. Still, pretty interesting stuff. Prior to even beginning, the author does warn/advise the reader to [try to] maintain an open mind and be prepared for all kinds of passions and deep prejudices to be drawn to the surface when he presents and lays out the brutal Truth of man. In fact, even 100 years since first printed, the absolute parallels, similarities, analogies, and near-identical scenario/picture with today's society is downright scary and borderline prophetic. This book is TOO truthful, makes TOO MUCH SENSE, and thus I'm surprised our current society [and now government], has not banned, or somehow restricted this book for both political-correctness & national security reasons. REALLY GOOD READ! hard to put down after starting.Product details

The Valor of Ignorance Homer Lea 9781298535528 Books Reviews
What is amazing about this book is not simply that it predicted much of what happened in World War I and II, in terms of battles, but the question of why it was so. This book was printed in many languages and was required reading for officers on both sides of these battles. So did it predict because this guy was incredibly prescient? Or because so many of the officers on both sides were reading the same play book? I also found it interesting that this book was a strong proponent of the idea that America would be crippled in protecting itself because the author believed that the then more recent flood of immigrants who came for a better life were simply here for the money and would not fight as hard as the children of earlier immigrants who came before the American revolution and who had been here through the Civil War. This book was certainly a consideration in the hands of those who decided to put Japanese-Americans and some German-Americans in holding camps because they did not believe they would be loyal to America. This author did not trust that someone whose parents and grandparents were from another country would fight for America. I grew up in an Eastern European enclave in the U.S. and often heard people talk about World War II and would always relate how their Polish-American or Hungarian-American or Greek-American or Italian American or German American soldiers fought so bravely, and they would say this with a defiance in their voice I did not understand. Reading this book made me understand that until the experience of these world wars, it was popular to believe that they would not.
Even a 100 yrs. later, the lessons in this book are still relevant. Lea was certainly a genius in his theories. I am happy to hear the military still respects the ideas set forth in this book.
The format doesn't work for this book. Reading it is subject to line breaks. One life, half, another full line, half. It doesn't flow at all. Book looks like a bad typescript. Have never had this problem with kindle or mobi files.
Outstanding book. Service was excellent.
Great book of predictions made in 1909. adaptation is terrible. It has a full line of text followed by a line with one or two words. The whole book is presented that way. It is very difficult to read. I did not see any of the charts from the original text and the tables are spaced out so much as to be unreadable. Fortunately a friend loaned me a hard copy so I could actually read the book.
Also Known as the Prophet..........Lea predicted with amazing accuracy the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1909, 32 years before it took place in 1941. It is military history texts, a book on history, a book on society decay and how can can easily predict, with some accuracy, the future current to follow by what takes place today.
A few months after Pearl Harbor the FBI confiscated all printed books with the thinking it was the 'blue print' to attack on Pearl Harbor. While still in print the Japanese government and militarists order copies of this book and made it mandatory reading for its officials and military cadets. Kaiser Wilheim read it, Mussolini and several high Nazi officials ordered this book to 'learn and master its lessons." After WWII West Point, the Naval Academy and the Air Force Academy made this a reading must for THEIR cadets.
Like so many other similar works it is all but forgotten and relegated to the back or bottom of a truck never to be seen or heard from again until great-grand-papa passes away. Then, only 2 or 3 generations later is the book rediscovered. Place this book at the top of your reading list!!!! IT IS A MUST READ FOR ANY INTERESTED MIND OF HOW TO DECIPHER SOCIETY'S APPROACHING DOOMS.
Perhaps, its best quote War, Victory, a Nation;
War, Destruction, Dissolution!
Thus has been the cycle of national existence since the dawn of time.
